Solicitors given Wills award
Blackpool solicitors Blackhurst Budd are celebrating receiving another feather in their cap with their latest quality award.
The Edward Street firm has recently been awarded the Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS) providing reassurance to clients that it operates best practice and the highest standards.
In 2011 Blackhurst Budd became the first firm on the Fylde Coast to achieve the Conveyancing Quality Scheme, in the same year it received Investors in People accreditation, which was upgraded to Silver level, and in 2010 it achieved Lexcel accreditation which is only given to solicitors who meet the highest standards in customer care, as well as case and risk management.
Now the Law Society has approved the firm to be accredited for the WIQS it means Blackhurst Budd is just one of a handful of solicitors in the North West to become a member of the scheme.
Solicitor Ian Bentley is Director of the Wills and Probate team at Blackhurst Budd and he said it is great news for the firm.
Ian said: “It is always pleasing to get accreditation for schemes from the Law Society because it shows our clients and other businesses that we are working to the highest standards and that we are experts in what we do.
“We have the largest probate department on the Fylde Coast and therefore it is important to us, and most importantly our clients, that we are able to prove we are leading the way when it comes to ensuring people’s estates are left in the best possible order after their death.”
“Making a will can be difficult for many people but it really is a vital thing to do.
“If you are not prepared there may be claims made in respect of your estate or if you have no relatives and no will your assets will go to the Crown.”
