Blackhurst Budd keeps the faith in the town centre
A Blackpool law firm has committed to stay in the town centre with a £150,000 investment in its premises.
Blackhurst Budd’s main office has been located at its Edward Street base for almost 100 years and with an ever expanding workforce the decision was taken to acquire new premises.
But rather than move from its present town centre site, Blackhurst Budd remains a town centre solicitors having bought the empty property directly adjacent to its current office.
Director David Aird said: “We’ve known for some time that we needed larger premises following the merger of a number of firms with Blackhurst Budd over the years.
“Although we did consider relocating to new out-of-town offices our preferred choice was to remain within the town centre. We feel that as a Blackpool business, whose heart lies in the centre of Blackpool, it was essential we maintain that commitment.
“We pride ourselves on being solely based now in Blackpool, something that was very important to us as it became apparent we needed larger offices.
“The property next door at 20 Edward Street had been on the market for some time and it made sense to invest there and extend our offices rather than moving to out-of -town premises.”
The firm’s commitment to the extension has resulted in an investment in excess of £150,000, which will now see its 42 staff based under one roof in modern offices.
Managing Director Warren Spencer added: “The acquisition of the property and the fact we will now be working under one roof is so much better for all of our staff and for our clients.
“We maintain that being in the town centre is the best place to be and we have shown a commitment to Blackpool town centre and our team by purchasing and redeveloping this property.”
Blackhurst Budd’s new offices were officially opened at a ceremony performed by former senior partner and District Judge, Michael Buckley.
